STAPP AB is now looking for a Product Developer to strengthen our development team and contribute to the development of both new and existing products.

The role is technically broad and practically oriented, suitable for those who want to take responsibility for the product development chain, from early concepts and development to verification, documentation, and improvement in operation.

About the role

As a Product Developer at STAPP, you will help develop robust, reliable, and long-term technical solutions for professional use. You will be an important part of the development team, contributing technical expertise, structure, and quality to both new projects and existing products.

The work involves mechatronic systems where electronics, software, and mechanics interact. The role combines practical development work with a structured approach and continuous improvement, including technical documentation and verification.

Your main responsibilities:

• Development and further development of mechatronic products with a focus on electronics and system integration
• Ensure integration, verification, and functionality of software in hardware-near environments, both MCU and Linux-based
• Participation in development projects from concept to finished and verified product
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance robustness, reliability, and testability in existing products
• Troubleshooting, testing, and verification of systems and subsystems
• Develop, structure, and maintain technical documentation that supports development, testing, and management

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in technical product development who enjoys responsibility, a holistic perspective, and practical development work. You work in a structured and independent manner, but also appreciate close collaboration in a smaller team with shared responsibility.

You have a technical background as a civil or university engineer in mechatronics, electronics, or equivalent and possess good knowledge in electronics, mechanics, and programming. You are familiar with hardware-near development, can read and interpret electronic schematics, and have experience working with both custom-developed and existing software.

You have:

• Several years of relevant experience in product development at a senior level
• Civil or university engineering degree in mechatronics, electronics, or equivalent
• Good knowledge in electronics, mechanics, and programming
• Experience in MCU-near development, such as ESP32
• Experience in Python
• Experience in Linux-based systems
• Experience in prototype development and testing
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience in creating schematics and participating in electronic design
• CAD design, preferably in Fusion
• Experience from automation, industrial systems, or similar technical environments
• Experience of the entire development chain – from requirements to verified product

You take responsibility for your work, are unpretentious in collaboration with others, and thrive in an environment where teamwork and shared responsibility for the whole is valued. You are comfortable with unclear requirements in early phases and see it as a natural part of the development process.

Employment conditions

• Extent: Full-time, permanent (initial probationary period of 6 months)
• On-call: Support on-call in the evening about 1 week/month.
• Travel: Travel occurs within Sweden, Europe, and the USA (2-3 times a year)
• Location: Eskilstuna
• Start date: By agreement
